HPM drilling rigs have earned their reputation as a trusted partner for operators across challenging markets, consistently delivering reliability and precision on every project. Now, the company is proud to introduce the rigs to the Canadian market.
Built for Canada’s unique challenges, HPM machines are engineered to excel in the toughest terrain and endure the long, harsh Arctic winters that define this demanding market. Safety is a top priority, and HPM maintains extremely high standards throughout the design and operation of their rigs. Beyond safety, the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship makes their rigs a sustainable choice for forward-thinking contractors.
Roots and global ambitions
HPM is a family-owned company based in Italy. Founded in 2012 by engineer Giuseppe Cartechini and his son Giacomo, the company built upon decades of engineering and design experience in the hydraulic drilling sector. From its early days of developing prototype rotary rigs, HPM has grown steadily, retaining a commitment to customization and close client collaboration.
HPM’s operations is located in Montefano, in Italy’s Marche region, where all design, assembly and testing are carried out in-house. The company prides itself on 100 per cent made in Italy production, using certified components and ensuring global spare parts availability. Because HPM emphasizes responsive service and flexibility, every rig model can be customized or reconfigured per client needs, from special mast arrangements to application-specific tooling.
In recent years, HPM’s presence has grown globally. The company now delivers rigs to diverse markets and presents new models at leading exhibitions (e.g., Bauma) to showcase innovation.
Engineered for any terrain: from permafrost to bedrock
Whether tackling glacial deposits or solid rock, HPM engineers its machines to deliver peak performance across all conditions. The company’s industry-leading torque-to-weight ratio, combined with application-specific tooling, transforms drilling in difficult terrain into a seamless operation.

The inherent flexibility and adaptability of these drilling rigs allow for fast configuration across different foundation techniques, including low headroom applications, while offering a choice between cylinder or winch push systems. This versatility makes HPM rigs an exceptional long-term investment.
Proven reliability across all climatic conditions
Extreme conditions demand exceptional engineering. HPM machines feature integrated systems that guarantee reliable operation even at sub-zero temperatures. For Canada’s demanding winters, HPM provides the Arctic Kit, a comprehensive package specifically engineered for harsh climate operation. This specialized kit includes cold-weather seals and low-temperature hydraulic fluids that ensure optimal drilling rig performance, eliminating malfunctions and minimizing downtime.
Safety and sustainability
Operator safety drives every design decision. HPM machines integrate advanced safety systems that protect operators and all site personnel. Ergonomic cabs, intuitive controls and comprehensive on-board monitoring systems ensure safe operations. Additionally, HPM recently introduced a comprehensive remote control system for every model, providing full machine control from the CAT base to the entire drilling rig, maximizing visibility and safety during drilling operations.

HPM maintains an unwavering commitment to reducing fuel consumption and emissions, exceeding environmental regulations while responsibly managing its environmental impact. This approach reduces operating costs and positions HPM’s partners in the modern and sustainable construction sector.
Building Canada’s future together
HPM’s entry into Canada represents more than a business expansion; it’s the company’s commitment to partnering with the Canadian industry. HPM offers a future of projects executed with precision and deep respect for the environment. Leveraging decades of experience and cutting-edge technology, HPM stands ready to become a trusted partner, tackling every project together. HPM machines represent not only work tools, but they’re an investment in proven performance. An investment that guarantees excellent performance, prioritizes worker safety and delivers a positive environmental impact.
