VersaPile’s new Alberta regional operation officially opened Sept. 1. The expansion comes as Almita shifts its focus to the engineering, manufacturing and distribution of helical pile systems and exits installation work. VersaPile is also adding members of Almita’s Alberta-based field installation and project management team.
The acquired equipment includes three ultra-high-capacity installation rigs capable of delivering up to 375,000 foot-pounds of torque and three high-capacity rigs capable of between 225,000 and 250,000 foot-pounds. VersaPile says the expansion will make it Canada’s largest contractor dedicated exclusively to helical pile installation.
The company currently serves projects across Manitoba and Ontario, with work focused on sectors including utilities and energy, telecommunications and industrial and commercial construction. Almita will continue to provide engineering, manufacturing, distribution and technical support for helical pile systems.
